How Music Has Wings

Hits!
Runners Up in the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition and the Irish Research Council Special Award. We believe the reason African music and Irish music sound similar is due to the migratory birds between the two countries. We also created a new genre of music based on Galapagos Island birdsong.
WHO ARE WE
We are a group of Transition Year students from Carrick On Shannon Community School, Co. Leitrim. On this website, you can view all that our project and our hypothesis have to offer.
We all have a very strong passion for music; both Irish traditional and modern music. We play several instruments between us, and this has had a very positive effect on our project. We decided to do this project because we were curious to see if we could expand Patrick’s hypothesis even further, and we were very interested in the whole idea of the Galapagos Island birds. Our interests in birds and their unique calls grew through the use of our very own birdhouse.
Our project is broken down for you through individual blogs. Each blog covers a different aspect of the project. We always love to hear feedback about our project!
